Accommodation

Hansel Cottage comfortably accommodates up to eight people and their dogs in a spacious four-bedroom cottage.

Dining Hall

The front door opens into the original cottage ‘hall’, this large wooden beamed room has a wood burner and dining table comfortably seating eight people.  This room leads to the kitchen, formal ‘snug’, rear passage and ‘old’ stairs.

Kitchen

The farmhouse style kitchen has been modernised with an eye to retaining rustic charm.  It has everything you need for your holiday including a rayburn*, double oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and walk-in pantry.  There is also a small table that seats four.  *Please note the rayburn is switched off from April to October.

The Pigsty

Across a small courtyard from the kitchen the former pigsty has been converted into a table tennis room and utility room.  In the utility room you will find a freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board, iron and a clothes rack.  There is even a special place to hang up wet suits to dry.

Snug

Opening off the dining hall the snug is a stylish and formal small sitting room with another wood burner, perfect for adults to relax whilst children take over the more relaxed TV/pool table sitting room.

The rear passage leads to the rear hall from where a door leads outside to the parking area.  Also off this hall is the bathroom and bedroom 1 and stairs up to the TV/Games Room.

Walled Garden

At the front is a pretty walled cottage garden accessed from the ‘Dining Hall’.  This small garden is probably more suitable for toddlers and small children to play in.  Although the lane runs alongside it, it is a very quiet road serving a handful of other houses with no through route.

Rear Garden

The rear garden extends to 3/4 acre with a patio area, garden furniture and barbecue.  The garden offers wonderful views of the valley and is a great place from which to spot passing wildlife or your dog(s) to play.  It is fully enclosed with a mixture of stone walls, railings and stock proof fencing to a height of approximately 4 feet.  However it is very steep in places and very young children or the infirm will need to take care.

Patio

The patio area is close to the house and is accessed by a relatively level path and a few steps.

Drive

There is a driveway with parking for three cars. A fourth car can be accommodated off road but only by blocking in the other cars and making turning around difficult.  A 7kw EV charger is available on the drive.
